Unseen Photo Fair, Westergasfabriek, Amsterdam

An established annual celebration of new photography, Unseen focuses on brand new photography talent as well as unseen work by established photographers. This year the fair takes place in the dramatic, vast expanse of Amsterdam’s Westergasfabriek which will house over 50 galleries from across the UK, Europe and Asia.

This year also has a particularly contemporary edge as galleries are challenged to present work that has been created since 2012, therefore unveiling the most recent important developments to take place in the world of photography – and seeing the fair live up to its name, truly allowing visitors to discover the unseen.

Premiering work comes from photographer Santeri Tuori via Gallery Taik Persons, the renowned gallery specialising in Finnish; while young Dutch galleries, BoetzelaerINispen and Ton de Boer show new work from new Dutch artists, Maurice van Es and Ruth van Beek; Grundemark Nilsson Gallery will also present a premiere of the Swedish photographer JH Engström, whose solo exhibition at Foam Photography Museum Amsterdam coincides with Unseen. Finally, Galerie van der Mieden will show a premiere of the acclaimed photographer from Dusseldorf, Martina Sauter.

2014 sees new cities join the fair such as Bratislava, Slovakia and several first-time exhibitors such as Galerie Paul Andriesse, Amsterdam; Galerie Nicola von Sengerm, Zurich; Feldbuschwiesner, Berlin and Camilla Grimaldi from London.
