Largely informed by the Surrealists and the Freudian theory of “The Uncanny”, Kushwah strives to illustrate the complexities of the subconscious and to intrigue viewers by letting ambiguity and uncertainty prevail in meticulously staged photographs. The images reflect a longing for childlike imagination, intentionally blurring the boundaries between dream and reality.
