Looking at a range of self portraits through the lens of the “selfie”, an exhibition at Museum of Fine Arts, in St. Petersburg, Florida, examines how photographers throughout history have captured and rewritten notions of identity. Blurring the boundaries between reality and fantasy; artifice and authenticity and public and private space, the show examines ideas of performance and masquerade through analogue and digital works.
