In The Potemkin Village, Gregor Sailer (b. 1980) captures illusionistic architecture around the world. From military training camps to replica cities, the chosen locations question various social, economical and political motives. The results are uncanny; ruinous houses are hidden behind peeling canvases and empty facades stand devoid of human presence. Sailor’s series is on display at Kehrer Galerie, Berlin, from 15 September.
