Reinventing History

Reinventing History

By delving into the publication’s archives, Vogue Like A Painting at GL Strand, Copenhagen, establishes visual and thematic links between fashion photography and fine art. Drawing inspiration from a variety of moments across art history, the images on display reinvent past works through formal and conceptual techniques.

Examples include Erwin Blumenfeld’s recreation of Johannes Vermeer’s 1665 painting, Girl with A Pearl Earring, alongside works for Vogue Netherlands by Erwin Olaf. The show also features images captured by iconic artists such as Annie Leibovitz, Sheila Metzner, Cecil Beaton, Horst P. Horst, Nick Knight, Carmen Kass and more.

Until 2 September. Find out more here.
