Emmanuelle Moureaux

A visit to Tokyo in 1995 formed Emmanuelle Moureaux’s artistic vision, in response to the city’s infinite layers and colours. Terming her concept “shikiri” meaning “to divide space using colours”, she began a process of creating 3D spaces from coloured layers. In I am here, she applies this to repeated anonymous cut-out figures.
