Jason Schembri is an emerging photographer from Sydney, with a strong interest in portrait and fashion photography. In Factory Girl, he critiques society’s obsession with unrealistic expectations of beauty. Sculpted, sprayed and painted, the woman is built to be perfect in every way. However, she lacks one very important trait, something that cannot be manufactured – genuine emotion. Without this quality, she is abandoned and deemed artificial, just like the materials used to create her.
