Constructing the Land

Constructing the Land

After studying Clinical psychology and working for 10 years in the advertisement industry, Edouard Sepulchre then dedicated himself to photography full-time, using the medium as a way of reconstructing elements from the real world.

From nearby urban neighbourhoods in Paris to desert landscapes in the American West, Morocco and Iran, Sepulchre’s images capture prairie-like idealism and rich colour palettes.

The featured images are from A month in The West (2015) and Looking for America (2018-), covering locations such as Bosnia and Montenegro. Sun-drenched landscapes offer a picturesque and constructed feel, with nods to the likes of James Casebere and Thomas Demand.
