SPLICE Audio Visual Performing Arts Festival, London

The first ever SPLICE festival – the UK’s only dedicated audiovisual performing arts festival – will open this summer in London, 3 – 5 June.

SPLICE brings together many diverse artists from around the world for a three-day feast of live cinema, audio/video remixing and visual music. The festival features performances, workshops, talks and networking events from established and emerging artists. Cassetteboy headlines with a live performance along with a DJ set by Plaid, an AV remix set from Addictive TV, live cinema from The Light Surgeons and a selection of other artists and video jockeys from across Europe.

Free workshops, including a Beginner’s Guide to AV, are hosted by Coldcut DJ and visualist Matt Black; Cymatics expert Zach Walker and Leon Trimble. The educational programme of the festival has talks from Goldsmith University researcher Nuno Correia and British artist Zak Norman who is known for collaborations with Squarepusher.

Bunq & Eb, Studio Asyzk, about:blankTM, Magnetic Foragers, Overlap and others have been confirmed as acts with more to be announced.
Founded by five leading practitioners of live video art and is part-funded by the Arts Council England, the festival aims to engage, educate and entertain new and existing audiences within the fast-growing cultural field.

SPLICE is the UK branch of AV Node, the wider EU cultural programme which links 13 similar art and technology festivals across Europe. Other supporters of the festival include University of the Arts’ London College of Communication (a partner of the festival), video technology pioneers QED Productions, visual software companies Resolume, MadMapper and VDMX and media partner Resonance FM.
