Ellison confronts the continual tension between desires and internalised ideals. Interested in the relationship between human behaviour and aesthetics, the artist explores the individual’s vulnerability to the power of the image. Underpinning the work is a continual friction that simultaneously indulges in and questions the voyeuristic aspects of visual representation.
