Objective Structures

Curated by Franz Graf and Francesca Albani, Angelo Mangiarotti: La Tettonica dell’Assemblaggio shows a large selection of works by the designer, architect and sculptor Angelo Mangiarotti, an influential figure of the cultural life in post-war Italy. Mangiarotti looked towards the opportunity for a new, architectural language, one that turned away from pure functionality, and instead sought creative expression as a means to shape the future of industrialisation. Simple, objective forms and sleek, minimalist shapes come to the fore in this unique show, which calls into question one of the most infamous approaches to design from the 20th century.

Angelo Mangiarotti: La Tettonica dell’Assemblaggio runs until 14 July. For more information: www.architekturforum-zuerich.ch
