Next Generation 2015 Interview with Photographer Emma Hartvig

Next Generation 2015: Future Greats

Contemporary photography is entering a limitless post-analogue phase of innovation. In 2014 Aesthetica handpicked a selection of promising young photographers, in partnership with London College of Communication. We are thrilled to be reprising this collaboration, highlighting the next round of international photographers working across documentary, fine art and experimental digital media. These creatives are pushing the limits of photography through cross-platform experimentation. They have exhibited at Serpentine Gallery and Rencontre d’Arles, whilst winning prestigious awards from the likes of Deutsche Bank, and have been published in Dazed & Confused, Financial TimesIt’s Nice That, Wallpaper and the British Journal of Photography, amongst others. The current selection reflects the evolution of the contemporary photographic medium, and demarcates its future direction – these artists are the ones to watch.

We interview Berlin-based Swedish photographer and London College of Communication alumnus Emma Hartvig about her striking portfolio of enticing, often unexpected photographic compositions.
