Mapping the Everyday

Mapping the Everyday

In a landscape where information sharing is instantaneous and constant, photography offers a moment of reflection. Bringing together contemporary images from the US, This Land at Pier 24, San Francisco, examines aspects of the country’s current social and political climate – drawing a portrait of the everyday American experience.

The show features images by renowned artists including Dawoud Bey, Richard Misrach, Katy Grannan and Alec Soth, each demonstrating the diversity of experience in the US. From rural landscapes to city streets, parking lots and industrial areas, the works – all taken within the last ten years – offer vignettes of life.

At a time defined by social and political tension, the photographs encourage audiences to critically engage with and reflect upon the people, places and conditions shaping the nation.

This Land runs until 31 March. Find out more here.
