Immersive Journeys

Positioning fashion as a portal through which to access a multiplicity of narratives and perspectives, Fashioned Worlds – a new exhibition from London College of Fashion, UAL – highlights postgraduate work from the next generation of creative talent. From inner landscapes to collective experiences, the show invites viewers on a journey that addresses social, cultural and political questions through interdisciplinary methods.

Featured here are images from Reality vs Unreality by Jiamin Yao. Set against a red backdrop, mirrors reflect and duplicate the self, whilst framing devices and distortions create illusions of infinity. As the artist explains: “The series is a playful and creative examination of the everyday. I wanted to break the limits of daily items to discover optical surprises that are often ignored. My work is made up of accidental abstractions.”

Fashioned Worlds runs 15-17 March at Bargehouse, London. Find out more here.
