Illuminating Truths
Shedding light on the state of post-war America, Robert Frank’s images from 1955-1957 reveal the racial tensions, violence and consumer culture that pervaded everyday life. Albertina Museum, Vienna, displays The Americans, a series of street photographs that draw a striking – and largely unseen – portrait of the nation at a pivotal moment in history.
