Design the Limited Edition Movie Poster for Filth

To celebrate the release of Irvine Welsh’s film adaptation of Filth, Lionsgate in partnership with Talenthouse are inviting graphic designers, illustrators and artists to create original artwork for a limited edition promotional poster to be featured in The Metro UK. The film shall be released across UK cinemas this October 2013, and for artists and designers this is the perfect opportunity to promote your unique skills and potentially see your original Filth poster design advertised in a national newspaper read by millions.

Creators are to take inspiration from the darker themes of Irvine Welsh’s protagonist ‘Bruce Robertson’ played by James McAvoy, a scheming and corrupt police officer, who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. This is a complex story for artists and designers to explore the concept of Filth, expressing daring, compelling, passionate and humorous ideas.

The final winning design shall be chosen by guest judges, Irvine Welsh (Scottish Novelist and Playwright) and Jon S. Baird (Filth Film Director). The winner will receive a £1,000 bursary, see their original artwork poster advertised in the print issue of Metro, tickets to the premiere, receive a signed and framed image of their work and also get a bumper bag of Filth merchandise!

Judges are looking for artwork that is eye-catching and provocative, pushing the artistic boundaries while still making it appealing for the public to enjoy. Submissions are open from 25 July until 5 September.
