Lina Benouhoud is a Moroccan fine art photographer, revelling in minimalism. Many of the works are shot on iPhone – demonstrating the power of the contemporary flaneur in documenting places as a fleeting passenger between walls, windows and pathways.
With a background in interior design and architecture, Benouhoud plays with space, emptiness, presence, light and shadow. These constructed elements come together in a linear sea of shapes, colours and lines.
The works – though documenting real-life locations in Poissey, France; Santa Venera, Malta; and Eindhoven, Netherlands – seem almost miniature-esque, mirroring the tabletop compositions of James Casebere or Thomas Demand. Benouhoud presents subtle changes in angle and perspective on contemporary buildings and still lifes.
