Cinematic Disposition

“The devotional practices [of filmmaking] seek passage to our sociality through impossible or unavailable images.” – Wu Tsang.

Devotional Document (Part I), at Nottingham Contemporary is Wu Tsang’s first solo show in the UK, bringing together two film installations and a video: Duilian (2016), Damelo Todo/Odot Olemad (2010-15), and Shape of a Right Statement (2008). Together these films evoke performative states of impossibility; through imagined histories the relationship between cinema and ritualistic activities.

Until 28 August. For more information: www.nottinghamcontemporary.org
