Design Fairs to See this Year

As environmental and ethical concerns inform consumers, a need arises for new, sustainable solutions. This selection of international design events provides fresh approaches to making, showcasing the work of upcoming practitioners from around the world.

Helsinki Design Week

Focusing on emerging talent and new trends, Helsinki Design Week showcases innovative projects across the city. Taking place in museums, markets, halls and shops, the eclectic event bridges the boundaries between fashion, art, design and architecture. 6-16 September.


Design Miami

A global forum, this fair combines commercial opportunities with cultural programming, hosting a range of innovative exhibitions and curation. Last year’s event featured a diverse programme, including an immersive installation by Studio Swine. 5-9 December.

London Design Festival

The 16th edition of LDF occupies major destinations across the city, including the V&A and Design Museum. Bringing together large-scale installations, commissions and a multiplicity of events, the festival welcomes renowned names such as Zaha Hadid Design. 15-23 September.

Dutch Design Week Eindhoven

Taking place across 9 days, DDW is a celebration of experimental ideas. Presenting conceptual solutions by 2500 designers, the event is an arena for surprising, responsive projects by young Netherlands-based collectives. 20-28 October.

Designart Tokyo

Returning for its second edition, Designart 2018 offers the city a new platform. Featuring renowned exhibitors including celebrated Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto, the festival offers a range of dynamic environments and collections, transforming Tokyo’s creative scene. 19-28 October.
