Born in South Carolina, Aaron Feaver (b. 1978) lived out a nomadic childhood until he eventually settled in Los Angeles. After studying for a degree in English, and briefly pursuing graphic design, Feaver found an old Polaroid camera in a Californian thrift store, which kick-started his career in photography. The result is an infectious oeuvre that snapshots youth with optimism and compositional air. Colourful styling and exuberant portraits frequent the assorted series, whilst cloudless skylines and natural landscapes provide examples of aesthetic consideration. Bold, indulgent palettes reflect the lifestyles within the frames – sun-drenched models dressed in bright oranges and yellows are cast against verdant greenery – successfully marrying form with content.
