World Art Dubai 2016, Dubai World Trade Centre

Returning for its second year as part of Dubai Art Season, World Art Dubai will take place from 6-9 April at the Dubai World Trade Centre and will showcase an impressive global collection of more than 3,000 paintings, prints, sculptures and photographs.

A special emphasis has been placed on accessibility, both in terms of buying and of appreciating art. The Art For Every Wall section features fresh, contemporary and accessible pieces from new and established artists and galleries. World Art Dubai is the first art fair in Dubai to offer original artworks at a pre-defined price point, and aims to use this quality to foster greater connection between artists and buyers around the world. The Ripe Contemporary Crafts Market also offers buying opportunities, here for hand-crafted goods, jewellery and small items of furniture by local artists and craftsmen.

Meanwhile, the Art Installation Zone provides space for local and international artists to display a series of large-scale sculptures, conceptual art pieces and modern interactive installations. Previous participants include Lukas Ulmi and his large-scale piece entitled Desafio al Espacio (2015). Alongside the commercial opportunities, free and informal talks on everything from on buying art, photography techniques and ways to create different forms of art will be held. These are aimed at all visitors and artists, and as such cover a diverse range of topics, from Working with Rock Celebrities and Artists to Buying your First Artwork and Appreciating Emirati Art.

As well as presentations, visitors can witness live painting sessions by emerging and established artists, join in curated walking tours, and take part in hands-on workshops an opportunity to immerse themselves in unique creative experiences. The show will also host the 4th International Emerging Artist Award, presented on the first day, and the Emerging Emirati Artist Award, to provide exposure and recognition to emerging artists from within and outside the United Arab Emirates.
