Shattered Idylls
Photographer Marianna Rothen’s Shadows in Paradise references three films: Ingmar Bergman’s Persona, Robert Altman’s Three Women and David Lynch’s Mulholland Drive. The series explores notions of selfhood in a utopian dreamworld, dealing with concepts of the gaze and life after a period of bliss.
