Yarli Allison, Lam
Yarli is a Hong Kong-Canadian born, London-based artist. She says: “I feel like a piece of driftwood, questioning the meaning of survival, whether physically or emotionally, with a fictitious approach.”
She is interested in solving crises with an understanding of oriental and Chinese philosophy. The invention of her coping strategies and survival tools can be seen as an extension of childhood play experience steeped in scientific reasoning.
The resulting imagined survival tools are suitable to specific types of dystopian situations to illustrate the relationship between the mind and body when experiencing crises and emergencies.
