They Came By Sea investigates relationships between a physical skin scratched away to reveal its truth or underside, and the idea of the displacement of people through history. The colours are dark, reminiscent of the sea and a powerful reminder of the discourse that surrounds cultural difference. It’s an illusion of reality.
