Jason Clarke uses art therapy to manage his bipolar disorder. It helps to release the pressure in his head from disturbing voices and visions. He explains: “Without art I would not be here today.” Clarke works every day, using a black gel pen.
Exhibiting his work brings mental health issues to a wider audience; conversations begin and people can open up about their experiences. Better understanding and education can reduce stigma.
Clarke will be participating in the Wirksworth Festival Art and Architectural Trail in Wirksworth, Derbyshire, UK, 9-10 September. For more information, click here.
