Poland-born, UK-based Ilona Skladzien holds an MA in Fine Art from Arts University Bournemouth. Her work explores sociopolitical grey areas through a psychological lens.
In the series Karpman’s Drama Triangle – which suggests that the roles of the victim, oppressor and rescuer are interchangable – Skladzien expands the possibilities of these ambiguous roles for the viewer.
She notes: “I am constructing my works in a way which I hope will invite the viewer to reflect upon their own experiences and memories. In this sense, the work aims to offer a mirror to the viewer’s unconscious.”
