Gill Bustamante is a Sussex, UK-based artist who paints large landscape and seascape paintings using oil on canvas.
She acquired a fine art degree in Brighton in 1983 and began her career as a portraitist and muralist. In the late 1990s she began to develop her own painting style, and began to paint the landscapes and seascapes that she currently favours.
She is inspired by the patterns and movements of nature and animals, and has developed a style that combines traditional techniques with more abstract and contemporary methods.
Bustamante’s pieces evolve from simple ideas, usually after she has taken a walk; she then to capture the essence of the place. They are expressionistic, impressionist, art deco and unique to her in the feelings they evoke.
