Camilla Dowse uses a refined palette of soft colours to create quiet and contemplative urban landscapes, removing contemporaneous distraction and allowing the viewer to see the beauty of the built environment.
In 2014 she won Artist of the Year in Artists & Illustrators magazine; this was followed in 2015 by a solo exhibition of new work presented by the Jonathan Cooper Gallery, London.
She has been shortlisted twice for The Sunday Times Watercolour Competition, and in 2017 won the Chairman’s Purchase Prize at the ING Discerning Eye Exhibition.
Dowse lives and works in South Oxfordshire, UK.
