The language of the immediate landscape – and the understanding of its visual metaphors – is what informs Farrell’s practice. Through painting, he applies linguistic layers, cutting, pasting and destroying each transient encounter with the urban landscape into the space of the canvas, offering a feeling of nostalgia.
