Set in the wilderness forests of western Sweden, Anna Lilleengen’s work creates an affective folkloric world, considering the ambivalence of feeling. Sublime Forest mobilises the wider elemental forces in the psyche, and are reflected in processes of self-renewal in the forest, forming narratives of solace and conciliation.
