Anastasia Schipanova represents a new generation of emerging Russian contemporary artists. Her work can be described as a mix of expressionism, symbolism and abstractionism in a vessel of so-called energo-abstractionism, which results in a palette of Schipanova’s feelings and passions reflected on canvas. She believes this is “a union of everlasting motion and still images”.
By refining a painting technique through an experimentation with different colour schemes and shapes, Schipanova depicts the intangible impulse of place, emotion and nature.
