Amy Hughes is a contemporary British painter. Her work deals with themes surrounding the female body, typically her own. Hughes manipulates and renders her flesh in oil paint; the compositions consider relationships between body and mind, as well as society’s fascination with the physical form.
Hughes studied Fine Art at Liverpool Hope University, and obtained her MFA at the New York Academy of Art with a scholarship from HRH The Prince of Wales. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally; in addition, her work has been sold at Sotheby’s New York.
