Los Angeles photographic art exposition, photo l.a. returns for its 23rd edition from 16 – 19 January. The long-standing event takes up residence in the iconic LA Mart building for the first time this year. Alongside the photography fair a number of galleries nearby will be working in unison to bring the best of art in LA to an international audience.

The first and longest running photo-based art fair in the region, photo l.a. opened at Butterfield’s Auction House in 1991 and has moved through various locations before landing in the artistic hub that is now downtown LA, at the LA Mart building. Exhibiting images from the 19th century right up to the present day, the event traces the influences and changes in photographic practice over the years. The fair features the presentation of internationally renowned galleries and a specialist platform for education and discussion. There will be a unique series of lectures, roundtable discussions and tours as a valuable supplement to the range of exhibitions.

The photographic community and art industry in LA is bought together under one roof for photo l.a. Seeking to raise the bar for cultural and collecting experiences in the region, the fair presents and outstanding programme of brilliant galleries and installations.
