PAD London to Celebrate 10 Years

PAD London to Celebrate 10 Years

Opening on 3 October, this year’s PAD London marks the 10-year milestone for the annual art and design fair. To celebrate its anniversary, the event will be held in a bold white tent on Berkeley Square, breaking away from its iconic black pavilion. More than 65 international exhibitors have been confirmed, all of which will showcase a diverse array of established and emerging practitioners.

Since its debut on Hanover Square in 2007, PAD London has transformed Mayfair into an energetic destination for art and design. Together with the pioneering Carpenters Workshop Gallery, PAD set out to support the rise of design as high-end collectable art and contributed to reinforcing the market for design, both locally and internationally. Following its expansion and the introduction of Modern art, photography, and tribal art and jewellery in 2009, the fair has doubled its number of exhibitors and attendance figures.

Patrick Perrin, CEO and President of PAD fairs, comments: “our aim was to bring to London an experience like no other, to share our passion for eclecticism and beautiful objects, and create an elegant salon in the style of a cabinet of curiosities, with the best selection of works available on the market across a broad range of genres. We have worked extremely hard over the past 10 years to turn what used to be a modest design fair into what PAD is today, a place to learn, discover and be inspired.”

In 2016, the roster of international galleries comprises 13 new additions, a fresh panorama of eye-catching works, a series of engaging talks, and an expert Jury for the 10th PAD Prize. Newcomers joining the fair in October include design organisations Sarah Myerscough (London), Leclaireur (Paris), Galerie Le Beau (Brussels), Maison Rapin (Paris, Hong-Kong) and Alexandre Guillemain (Paris). Meanwhile, Opera (London, Paris, New York, Hong-Kong), Gérard Lasés (Hong-Kong), Dumonteil (Paris, New York, Shangai), Repetto (London), Richard Green (London) and Aktis (London) join the contingency of Modern art exhibitors.
