Multi-Dimensional Forms

Multi-Dimensional Forms
By using a singular material such as polystyrene, Tara Donovan’s innovative sculptural pieces foreground the physical characteristics of everyday objects. An exhibition of her recent work at Pace Gallery, London, marks a departure from the artist’s well-known monumental forms, instead focusing on the two-dimensional picture plane. The shape of the stacked styrene cards becomes defined by the frame, creating unique patterns that appear to be in motion.
