Launched in 2007 as an artist-led, commissioning festival, the biennial Manchester International Festival (MIF) champions original, new works from across the spectrum of performing arts, visual arts and popular culture. This year’s line-up includes Wayne McGregor’s contemporary ballet performance Tree of Codes, which features visual sets by Olafur Eliasson and a musical score by Jamie xx, as well as Richter / Pärt, an extraordinary project which brings together two of the world’s most influential and enduring cultural figures.
