jj is Joakim Benon and Elin Kastlander, a duo from Gothenburg, Sweden. Kind of like a secret, jj has a bit of a hushed appeal and this pair are beyond enigmatic. Without the usual suspects: Facebook, Twitter or Myspace it’s hard to find any information on them, somehow taking you back a decade to when that was commonplace.

Having released jj n^o 2 in 2009, they became an underground sensation, you know the type – a friend tells a friend, tells a friend and so on and so forth. But, that doesn’t speak for the music. The vocals are wistful and dreamy combining an amalgamation of morphing sounds ranging from lo-fi pop, strings, synths, African rhythms, and even a bit of hip-hop.
