Into the Metropolis

Into the Metropolis

For over ten years, Nuremberg-based photographer Christian Höhn has captured the world’s largest cities and transport networks. Intrigued by the metropolis, his monumental images tap into ideas of alienation and anonymity, reflecting on the cultural and environmental impact of urbanisation.
The clean, pared-back compositions heighten the appearance of urban design, blending aesthetic sensibility with a critical lens. Each image draws into focus an element of the everyday landscape, offering viewers a new – often surreal – perspective on their surroundings.

Images from two series – Megacity and One Station – are on display at Herforder Kunstverein, Germany, until 4 November Find out more here.
