Amongst those featured is Alice Zoo, whose images from the series Swimmers were highlighted in Next Generation 2018, Aesthetica’s annual collaboration with London College of Communication. Celebrating the work of recent graduates, it recognises those shaping the industry.

Zoo’s series documents the women who swim in Hampstead Heath Ladies Pond. Shot over two winters, it highlights the endurance and boldness of this community whilst shedding light on the beauty of the surrounding landscape – open doors, underwater bodies and hazy sunrises collide.

The Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2018 is open until 27 January. Find out more here.
