Connecting the frontiers of artistic expression with design and technology, London-based innovators Alpha-ville launch EXCHANGE. This new series of events is designed to give the art, tech and creative communities an opportunity to connect, exchange ideas, get inspired and discover new talent.
The first of the series, EXCHANGE 1, brings together some of the world’s most talented artists, creatives and designers to talk about their practice, influences and recent works. The day – a combination of presentations, talks and social events – will present work across motion graphics, graphic design, illustration, interaction design, generative design, digital and software art, mixed media art, data visualisation and more. This will be complemented by a music programme in the evening for attendees to network and enjoy.
Confirmed artists for EXCHANGE 1 include Belin-based artist and scenographer Eno Henze, a prominent figure in a generation of artists using a multi-platform approach to examine the intricacies of the complex relationship between humans and machines. Fellow Berlin-based design studio onformative will also feature, sharing knowledge of their work which is forged at the convergence of technology, design strategy and emotionally driven artistic intuition. Other speakers include: Sougwen Chung, an interdisciplinary artist and designer whose processes span drawing, video, animation, 3D, sound and installation; Field, a creative studio for digital art and design based in London; Quayola who explores geometry, time-based digital sculptures, audiovisual installations and performances as well as acclaimed visual artist Shantell Martin.
EXCHANGE 1, 17 January, Alpha-ville, Rich Mix Cinema & Arts Centre, 35-47 Bethnal Green Road, Shoreditch, London E1 6LA.
