Contemporary Fine Art Presents: pART3/3, The Crypt, London

pART3/3 is a group show due to open at The Crypt, London. Contemporary Fine Art Presents is a collective of 15 emerging artists from University of Portsmouth’s BA course. Their work will go on display for one week in June, adding to the atmospheric venue with innovative and varied artworks. The art work covers numerous media, including performance, photography, sculpture and printing. George Michels, from the curation team said “I am very excited to be pulling together all our work in this special venue – it’s the culmination of three years of creativity, and it will be an honour to bring our show to London.”

The Crypt Gallery has recently been recognised by Time Out as one of London’s “Hidden Art Galleries”, and the collective is aiming to continue the venue’s practice of hosting intriguing contemporary art shows as part of their ongoing programme of curated exhibitions. In addition to the show there will also be a schools’ open day and a range of artist’s tours, which will all contribute to raising the profile of the gallery and their work, encouraging engagement with art in the local community.

Last year Contemporary Fine Art Presents were the contributors and organisers of last year’s Albert Road Trail, which was an ambitious “art crawl” that showcased work in the premises of local businesses in the popular independent shopping street in Southsea, Hampshire. This unique approach to exhibiting art was recognised by The News (Portsmouth) Guide Awards, in the Best Exhibition category.

In response to the distinct approaches of the artists in the collective, and in order to promote the work of each individual member of CFA Presents, there will be an Industry Day. Professionals from other galleries and institutions will be invited to visit, and through meeting with specific artists, the work which best suits the styles and themes of their establishments will be highlighted. pART3/3 is set to be an exciting celebration of emerging art practices, combining the artists’ particular genres with the stunning setting of a Grade 1 listed building.

pART3/3, 10-17 June, The Crypt, St Pancras Church, Euston Road, London, NW1 2BA.
