Colour Intervention

For her first institutional solo exhibition in London, Katharina Grosse creates a new work, This Drove my Mother up the Wall, painted in situ at the South London Gallery. Opening on 28 September, the show provides an opportunity for viewers to engage first-hand with an original installation by the artist. Grosse’s large scale and site-specific works engulf both interior and exterior spaces, and are unhindered by the traditional boundaries of the pictorial field. At South London Gallery, the artist has masked the floor with a foam stencil to create a vibrant, painterly intervention.
