Collective Traditions

Collective Traditions
Simon Roberts’ images explore the shared idiosyncrasies of a nation. By documenting the regions and events that define the British social landscape, the photographer conflates past and present and taps into the collective consciousness. Chronicling the communal quotidian, the images often disrupt traditional notions of the picturesque by responding to contemporary political events.
