Catlin Art Prize Exhibition, 2-24 May Londonewcastle Project Space

Returning this year for its eighth edition is the Catlin Art Prize exhibition held Londonewcastle Project Space showcasing the new work by seven recent graduates who are chosen for their potential to make a significant impact in the art world over the next decade and beyond. Finalists for the prize are selected from The Catlin Guide 2014 and then seven are put on display at the exhibition space in London.

The finalists this year are Mr. & Mrs. Philip Cath (Goldsmiths), Sarah Fortais (Central Saint Martins), Virgile Ittah (Royal College of Art), Lara Morrell (Central Saint Martins), Neil Raitt (Royal College of Art), Dennis J. Reinmüller (Edinburgh College of Art) and Jakob Rowlinson (The Ruskin School of Drawing and Fine Art). The guide is selected from graduating artists from around the UK who are visited and assessed by Art Catlin curator, Justin Hammond. The 40 that are judged to be the most exciting are invited to feature in The Catlin Guide.

One artist will be awarded with a prize of £5,000 after judging by a panel of judges the award will be given on14 May. Turner Prize winner Mark Wallinger will be one of the judges that makes up the panel. There will also be a winner of the Visitor Vote awarded £2,000 and this is decided by visitors that come to be exhibition who are encouraged to vote by ballot box.
