Miles Aldridge at the launch of the House of Peroni, London

This November House of Peroni, London, opens its doors to celebrate Italian style and creativity with Miles Aldridge. Fashion photographer, Aldridge, is inspired by Federico Fellini’s era-defining film, 8 1/2, forming one of the centrepieces of the launch. Bringing all the glamour and beauty of Italian contemporary film into this residency of culture and cuisine, the artist helps kick-off 30 days of sizzling style on Portland Place.

Influenced by a scene from the 1963 Academy Award-winning film of the inimitable Fellini, Aldridge recaptures in colour this landmark of Italian cinema, just over 50 years after its first release. Replacing original actress Sandra Milo with model Lorena Manelli, clothed in the latest collection from fashion designer Antonio Marras and accessories from Simone Rainer, his re-envisioned image of 8 1/2 brings the strangely fascinating woman at the heart of a film back to life.

Designed by award-winning architect and co-designer of the Enzo Ferrari museum, Andrea Morgante, The House of Peroni also features two stylish bars and a cinema where Fellini’s 8 1/2 will be screened alongside a series of contemporary Italian films. A number of other fashion installations throughout The House will allow guests to discover new wave Italian designers, such as Arthur Arbesser and Fabio Quaranta, as well as video installations from artist Quayola, whose work, journeying into the bedrock of Italian art and culture, has previously been shown at the V&A and MoMA.

Michelin starred chefs, the Costardi brothers, and master mixologist, Gerry Calabrese also provide culinary treats spiced with the flavour of Italy, whilst a soundscape created from 25 Italian music producers and DJs offers a bespoke playlist for each room, making a truly immersive experience of this hub of Italian stylishness.

The House of Peroni, until 30 November, 41 Portland Place, London W1B 1QH.
