Sensoria Festival 2013 , Sheffield

Sensoria features a unique, eclectic mix of film screenings, live music, exhibitions, installations and talks rolled out across four days across the city of Sheffield. Cinema highlights include Luc Besson’s The Big Blue, which is being screened on its 25th anniversary at a 1930’s outdoor pool in Hathersage. Whilst a car park will be re-imagined as a Drive In cinema, with coming of age classic American Graffiti on the big screen.

Sensoria will also play host a range of exclusive screenings at the independent Showroom Cinema, including the UK premiere of The Broken Circle Breakdown, a distinctive drama which garnered a ten minute standing ovation and Audience Award at the Berlin Film Festival.

Part of this audio visual festival will be focussed on assisting professionals and emerging talent within the music and film industry. SensoriaPro on Friday 27 September will see a casual gathering of composers, labels, music supervisors, filmmakers, agents, managers and more flock to the Electric Works. The day features an variety of talks and panels with a host of special guest speakers, and an opportunity for delegates to get their work critiqued by an industry panel. One of the talks is presented by Chris Watson, one of the world’s leading recorders of wildlife and natural phenomena. Watson will talk about his field recordings for the major installation Inside The Circle Of Fire, opening in Sheffield 12 September.
