Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Dover Street Market, London

To celebrate 10 years of existence, Dover Street Market holds The Next Ten Years: a series of events, installations and special products. For the duration of September, the basement and second floor of Dover Street Market will be totally transformed, the Rose Bakery will be enlarged and artists design four new fitting rooms. Furthermore, an event space on the first floor, an expanded jewellery section and wallet display will be given over to Louis Vuitton for the entire A/W14 season.

Other new additions include a dedicated Nike space and Tokyo’s Good Design Shop – a collaboration between Comme des Garçons and D&DEPARTMENT – in the basement, and temporary market stalls scattered throughout the whole of the marketplace. These stalls will celebrate the past ten years, and look forward to the next decade with items such as souvenir products designed by Rei Kawakubo, a series of Dover Street Market Checkerboard printed products and a special edition Comme des Garcons SHIRT, made in France and appliquéd with the number 10.

Every floor will have events spaces devoted to and curated by different designers each week, many of whom – Sacai, Simone Rocha, Gary Card, Giambattista Valli, Rick Owens, Casey Casey, Undercover, Bianca Chandon, Craig Green and Phoebe English for example – have created one off exclusive products for the occasion. Nike will also be making a special shoe, Palace Skateboards have designed an exclusive collection and Stella McCartney Kids who will be creating a special selection of custom made limited edition t-shirts.

Finally, the window display will feature two weeks of Nicolas Ghesquiere’s first Vuitton collection, followed by a Phoebe English window exclusively previewing her SS15 collection. This will all be surrounded by an installation by Rei Kawakubo, covering the whole of the façade of the building and symbolising “The Next Ten Years.”
