Aesthetica Art Prize: Call for Entries

The Aesthetica Art Prize, which is now open for entries, is an annual award given by the international art and culture publication Aesthetica Magazine, distinguished by its dynamic content, merging compelling critical debate and stunning images, to engage with all aspects of visual art and culture. The Aesthetica Art Prize celebrates excellence in art from across the world and offers both budding artists and established practitioners the opportunity to showcase their work to wider audiences and further their involvement in the international art world.

Previous finalists include Ingrid Hu, who has worked for the acclaimed architectural practice Heatherwick Studio; Julia Vogl, who was shortlisted for New Sensations – Saatchi Gallery and Channel 4′s Prize – and has exhibited at Zabludowicz Collection; Marcus Jansen, a leading modern expressionist who joined a legacy of artists by featuring in Absolut Vodka’s artistic campaigns, and Bernat Millet, also shortlisted for National Portrait Gallery’s Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize.

There are two strands to enter: Main Prize and Student Prize. Categories for entry include, but are not limited to, Photographic & Digital Art; Three Dimensional Design & Sculpture; Painting & Drawing, and Video, Installation & Performance. Entry is £15 and permits the submission of two works into any one category. Judges will be looking for artwork that is engaging and innovative and that excites or challenges whilst demonstrating technical skill and ability.

Prizes include £5,000 for the Main Prize Winner; £1,000 for the Student Prize Winner; group exhibition for shortlisted artists; editorial coverage in Aesthetica Magazine, which as a readership of over 165,000; editorial coverage on the Aesthetica blog, publication in the Aesthetica Art Prize Anthology distributed in UK galleries; art supplies courtesy of Winsor & Newton and art books courtesy of Prestel.
