Two sculptures by Jamal Habroush Al Suwaidi (his work was shown in the February / March 2017 issue) are now on permanent display in Dubai International Airport as part of the artDXB initiative.
Although Al Suwaidi has travelled widely and taken inspiration from many cultures, it is a relationship with his native UAE that informs the sculptural works. Looking to the future and the past, his art acts as a bridge to understanding other cultures. Arabic calligraphy in particular, forms the basis of the LOVE – Red sculpture.
DXB is world’s busiest airport by annual international passenger traffic.
