The Other Art Fair, 16-19 October, London

The Other Art Fair places the spotlight on emerging artists and connects art lovers of all tastes and experience, directly with 130 of the most talented and unrepresented artists. Running 16-19 October at the Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane, the fair presents thousands of pieces of art, starting from just £50. In addition to the various stands on display, the event is an art experience in its own right, featuring an immersive theatre with Non Zero One, art and live music performances, kids create area, Crate Brewery Bar, Soho House’s Dirty Burger pop up and much more.

Referred to by Stylist Magazine as the place “to discover the next YBA”, The Other Art Fair has teamed up with one of British contemporary art’s most exciting artists, Polly Morgan, who will be selling a new collection of hand-finished prints specifically created for the fair. Celebrated for her intriguing sculptures that challenge and dismantle taxidermy traditions, Morgan’s new series of elegantly coiled snakes will be presented across the four-day event with exclusive prints available for visitors to buy. Other artists set to be involved will cover the practices of painting, photography, sculpture, drawing and prints.

There will also be performance from Non Zero One, who will take over a corner of the fair to explore the boundaries of communication in physical expression. Audiences are invited to join a 15 minute performance where they determine what they see by choosing to enter queue 1 or queue 2. The interactive performance puts the viewer at the centre of the work and asks who the real artist is. The aim of the company is to make live presentations that enable participants to have both shared and personal experiences.

The Other Art Fair will also be sharing its home with Moniker Art Fair, London’s premiere contemporary art fair with its roots embedded in urban culture. Moniker Art Fair spotlights emerging and established talent, celebrating a generation of artists at the forefront of a unique contemporary art movement; attracting some of the most talked about artists, galleries and collectors from the finer side of the street art movement and its related subcultures. Guests can purchase tickets from £8 to get access to both fairs.
